# Black sesame and mushroom sauce with green vegetables
Adapted from a dish at *Bodhi Restaurant*, and this: https://thehappyfoodie.co.uk/recipes/kuro-goma-ae-green-beans-with-black-sesame-sauce/
Extremely yummy.
Goes well with asparagus - or broccolini - or green beans, steamed/poached and lightly salted
**Black sesame sauce:**
Rich-flavoured mushrooms e.g. 2-3 portobello mushrooms
4 tbsp black sesame seeds
1 tbsp mirin
1 tsp soy sauce
1-2 tsp miso
1 tbsp brown sugar - or chopped cranberries - or goji berries
1 tbsp water if needed for consistency
Chop the mushrooms finely and cook down with some oil in a pan until very soft.
Grind the sesame seeds as best you can in the pestle and mortar.
*It won't exactly produce a paste, more a sort of dusty sludge, but have a go.*
Add the remaining things to the pestle and mortar, mixing in as you go.
*This will get messy. You'll be scraping black sludge off everything.*
Stir the ~~paste~~sludge into the pan with the cooked mushrooms, then serve on the veggies.
