# McNamara Fallacy
Or **Quantitative Fallacy**
Making a decision based *only* on quantitative data/metrics can result in incorrect decisions, misleading conclusions, losing touch with the real circumstances - hence is a dangerous policy in isolation.
This is because if you only look at metrics, you tend to:
- Ignore things that can't easily be measured
- Distort / incorrectly estimate things that can't be measured accurately
